The Department of Defense will work in lockstep with the Philippine Department of National Defense and Armed Forces to rapidly pursue modernization projects at these locations. The Department intends to expand funding on top of the $82 million we have already allocated toward infrastructure investments at the existing EDCA sites.
Marcos granted US troops access to four more Philippine military camps on top of the five existing locations under the EDCA in February. The five are Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija, Basa Air Base in Pampanga, Antonio Bautista Air Base in Palawan, Mactan-Benito Ebuen Air Base in Cebu and Lumbia Air Base in Cagayan de Oro City.
