Isolated microinverters eject leakage current issues and can give higher voltage gain due to their turn ratio [ 6 - 11 ], but the galvanic isolation causes higher cost and size and lower efficiency in comparison to non-isolated Microinverters. Non-isolated SSMIs are based on different DC/DC converters.
AC-Module consists of a single PV panel and a microinverter that directly injects power into the grid. According to the latest Research and Markets, the global solar microinverters market is expected to observe a compound annual growth rate of 15.3% during the forecast period (2016-2026), reaching $1,968.7 million by 2026 report [ 1 ].
In order to evaluate the proposed microinverter, the simulation and experimental results are presented at first. Then, a loss analysis is applied according to the simulation and experimental results. Finally, a comparative study has been carried out between the proposed microinverter and the references reviewed in this research.
In this paper, a non-isolated three-switch common-ground step-up microinverter is proposed. Due to the common grounding structure, the leakage current is negligible. Only one of the circuit switches operates at high frequency.
This research proposes a cost-efficient microinverter. The proposed microinverter can eliminate the leakage current using common-ground configuration. It uses three switches and only one of them operates at high frequency.
