The South Korean government plans to invest heavily in the electric vehicle (EV) industry in the coming years. The electric vehicle industry in Korea is in massive growth thanks to the support of the government. That support will only increase with the election of President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol.
Since electric battery packs are the most expensive component in an electric vehicle (33% of total production costs), the South Korean government is investing in its own battery material development infrastructure. This will also play a significant role in lowering the cost of EVs for Korean customers.
